Young peoples’ school councils

School councils are democratically elected groups of students who represent their peers and enable pupils to become partners in their own education, making a positive contribution to the school environment and ethos. Visit the website

Youth Parliament

It is the UK Youth Parliament’s (UKYP) aim that by next year young people in the UK will be aware they have their own youth parliament and, if they are aged between 11 and 18 (inclusive), they have both the right to vote for an prospective Member of the Youth Parliament (MYP) and to stand as an MYP.

The UKYP has produced a youth manifesto at each of its sittings. The UK Government has provided a response to both the 2001 and 2002 UKYP manifestos. Visit the website
